Friday July 9, 2004 Mississippi crossing - a stop at the mighty river. Eastward and homeward bound.
No pictures here, just beating a path to Wisconsin and Alpine Valley. Although the speeding ticket Karen received in Minnesota did nothing to improve our opinion of the state. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Friday July 9, 2004 Sioux Falls to Lake Geneva, WI. Another long drive, through dreary weather. This drive was highlighted by the speeding ticket Karen received 10 minutes into Minnesota. The trooper was a real dick, and you knew that he nabbed us only because of the Illinois plates. Bah! Humbug! We arrived at the Interlaken Resort and checked out the facilities. We enjoyed a relaxing swim in the outdoor pool (which was bathwater warm!) and then a nice soak in the hot tub. We headed up to the lounge and had a few drinks, managing to order up some food before the kitchen closed for the night. There were a few other Parrotheads there too, eagerly waiting on the Jimmy Buffett concert Saturday night at Alpine Valley. |
